EA81 fly ring gear new sources?

Post by steptoe » Fri Oct 24, 2014 10:35 pm

Anyone know of a good conatact for aftermarket ring gears ?For EA81 ?
Reckon they'd be same as EA82 manual flys as well.

Got my 225mm flywheel stone ground for clutch face, then off to a good fella with a lathe who either needs to make an adaptor to turn the 23mm step down to 21mm inside the ring gear OR remove ring gear for a few dodgy spots on it, stone grind to 21mm, then new ring gear is the old perfectionists recommendation. Got meself a bit of credit with this fella - doesn't wanna be paid :)

Rang the usual nation wide suppliers of many parts on a Friday arvo - both need to make a call next week - no listing! Think I'd prefer to buy direct .

Just stock up on old EA81 (8" or 9") flywheels and when you need one, just remove the ring gear, flip it over and reposition in a 45deg from original position but can't see you needing to do it too often.. how long have they been lasting for now?
