Smokey motor... oil/addative suggestions.

Post by SuBaRiNo » Fri Jun 02, 2006 9:35 pm

My ej22 is getting a little smokey at times and i can't afford to fix it or replace it.... any suggestions on what oil or addative others have used with good results that can pro-long needing to spend big money on it?

Maybe even an addative and oil combo that works well.

Try Shell Helix or Penzoil, 20W-60.

Funny u should suggest that... i just tried the shell Helix with the Nulon stop smoke... but no luck im afraid... engine is stuffed beyond thicker oil.

Thanks for the suggestions.

When I was getting desperate with one of my previous engines I was using straight 50 or 60 grade and even diff oil, they all went straight through (it was royally stuffed) the stop smoke addatives did just that, stopped the smoke, the oil still disappeared at the same rate though.
