Oil pump gasket

My EA81 oil pump is leaking badly at the seal where the pump bolts onto the engine. Are there still replacements being made, and should the o-ring be replaced as well? I could cut one out of paper, but it looks quite fiddly and I would rather buy one if possible.

Thanks

Frog will probably still be able to get the kit or they can be had from Ebay motors USA

Be careful removing the pump, as well as it will crack when breathed on. :)

it is suggested that the crank pulley be removed when taking the pump off, to make it easier to get the pump off.

Thanks for the advice. I will first try to carefully remove it without taking out the radiator or crank pulley and see how I go. I trust myself not to break it, but worst case scenario it will just be a trip to u-pull-it.

Are you sure the gasket is the problem ?
I thought the same but found the pump was cracked (as they do) instead.
Ended up cracking 2 or 3 more getting a good one off at the wreckers (well I didn't, the wreckers did)

I am not 100%, but I cleaned the front of the engine up and ran it and the oil certainly seemed to be coming from the gasket. I will double check before I take it off, thanks.

It is all done, and for the first time ever the car doesn't leave oil puddles everywhere. There is still oil coming from everywhere else, but it is so minor I won't worry about it.

I have one question though. When I took the pump off, I left it as full of oil as possible. Just to be safe, I put a little assembly lube into it and into the crank case before I put it back on, like it says in the book. Will this contaminate the oil or is it fine to leave it there?

Good to hear it's sort and did you replace the front crank seal whilst you were there? another thing to check, is the sump gasket, just nip them up a bit but not too much, as it's a cork gasket.

It was sorted, but a while later it lost its prime overnight so I got a whole new pump from Subaru.
I didn't do the front crank seal because I didn't take anything off to change the oil pump, but I will do that and the sump gasket soon, maybe on the next oil change.
