MY Carby solenoid

Post by Cliff R » Tue Sep 15, 2015 8:47 pm

Does anyone know if the anti run on solenoid (anti dieseling) that is located in the MY carby is still available.
The carby has the manual choke and the solenoid is about the most complicated thing on the setup.
The wire to the solenoid goes brittle and tends to snap off right up against the solenoids insulation block meaning the wire cant be re joined.
I have installed a support bracket so the wire wont be pulled and stressed but I cant see it lasting forever.

I know weber still make one but I don't think it would fit.

I was once lucky enough to be able to clean the insulation away and solder a wire to the remains of the wire on the back of the solenoid.

there is a complete carby on ebay

might be worth buying.

Toonga
I saw the carby you mention but the auction has finished.
I will keep an eye out.
Might have to try to get to a local wreckers and go for a look.
