What's your preferred oil for an old but not warn out gearbox?

As the topic asks, what oil do you use? I'm mainly interested in the weight, not the brand. Thanks

I think the stuff I use is LSD spec - 90w comes to mind but I'd need to confirm.

Yep I use a 90w in my AWD drive box

an oil additive of some sort can work as well moreys , lucas or nulon

Nulon G70 is good additive

I usually use 80w/90. In the race car with the 4sp we ran dry once and all we had was used 10w/40 which worked well enough but the next weekend we raced my Co drivers boss gave me some 110w/140 and it made the shifter a lot firmer, and no gear crunches at all.

I was thinking of getting a 90w/110 as it's a middle ground but maybe even a straight 110 as that will help when is cold too.

Ended up buying some 75w 90 semi syn Penrite. Will update one I actually drive the car
