Does anyone know if you can do this without removing the engine, ive seen some vids of people doing it with the EJ 2.5lt later models. getting it done in <6 hours.

I parked my Rx turbo for 3 years and its blown a head gasket, even though it was replaced less than 5k ago obv lack of use deteriated the gaskets.

Any one got any links or instructions for a 87 Rx turbo. If its possibles it would mean i could get it fixed by providing the info to the repairer, iron tight and those other sealants helped a lot but still loosing water.

I'd pull the engine to do head gaskets - much easier to do and sales a lot of back ache being bent over the side of the engine bay.

While it's out it's a good opportunity to do the rear main seal as well ;)

I agree with Bennie way easier to pull the engine then doing it in the engine bay.
