L series fornt drive shaft lube!!

Post by soobs_rule_m8 » Tue Jul 11, 2006 9:44 am

Bit of a whirring noise in the from end on acceleration, doesn't sound like CV's. Anyone lubed up the bearings on the front drive shafts before? I'm hoping I can just slip the rubber boot off from under the car and pack some grease in there without removing the shaft.
Anyone got any tips/or done it before?

Cheers
Andrew

I am a little confused here (just joys of squeezing board time in at work)…
If you do not think that the noise is coming from the drive shafts then why are you taking the boot off and putting grease in there? What you noise your describing sounds more like wheel bearings.

Poor description on my behalf. Or maybe just half asleep as I'm just killing time at work myself.
Probably could be wheel bearings, I was just curious of anyone had done them bearings on the fromt drive shafts (closest to the gearbox). If that was a common problem I might as well do that also? I've never pulled them apart before on either of my last 2 soobs.
