Hello everyone. I have a dumb question about the 4wd system. My car is the 89 touring wagon auto mpfi 3 speed auto job. Anyways, mine has constant 4wd switch, and also auto 4wd. I have had a play with it. When i bought the car, i accidently drove the car home in constant 4wd for a good 70km's. I didnt know and still dont know much about my car. But, can it be driven in constant 4wd all the time? When i drove it home from purchasing it, it seemed to drive fine no issues at all. ive been reading some of you guys get diff wind up. would this happen to my car?
Thanks.

in yours you will. the auto 4wd comes into play when you turn the wipers on , hit the brakes etc (there are 4 ways it comes on)

you will notice bind if you have it engaged and turn sharply (eg U turn) it will feel like the car still wants to go straight even though you are turning.

There was a auto 4wd box that had a multi stage clutch to activate the 4wd, which when enganged didnt provide 100% lock, which meant that it was possiable to drive in 4wd

I will try to find out which one it was
