How should a Full Time L Series box operate out of the car?

Okay I am getting ready to put this box in - but I just want to check its operating right!

Diff Lock lever off -: Turn input shaft - both front drive shafts and tailshaft turns. If I hold the tailshaft - input and front shafts can turn. Thats normal (I believe?)

Diff Lock Lever on -: If I hold the tailshaft - I cannot turn the input shaft. But it all moves if I just turn the input shaft alone.

That is all a-okay isnt it?

That sounds perfect.

With the diff lock off...holding the tailshaft should really make the input shaft a little more difficult to turn - otherwise that would indicate a worn out centre diff. But most likely it will tighten up with some driving anyway.

Thanks Andrew - it is slightly more difficult to turn. Time for a clutch then!
