Oil In Rocker Cover

Post by mattims » Mon Oct 23, 2006 10:13 pm

My L series (ea82 carby) has taken a serious dislike to offroading. Whenever i take the car up or down steep hills it seems to fill the right hand side rocker cover with oil, so if the PCV hose is hooked up it will then go into the carby. In Spectacular form on the latest trip, the second barrel of the webber was actually full to the brim with oil (well until andrew pulled the throttle open).

In 2 weeks of driving on the road i can drive as hard as i like with no problems at all, not a hint of smoke and pretty minimal oil usage. As soon as i head of road (or park on a big sideway angle) i get problems.

I am thinking that there must be a leaking cam oil seal? is this likely and it is easy enough to replace in the car or do i need to take the engine out.
