EA82 (Non EFI) Noisy Air Injection Valve

Post by maddog » Fri Nov 10, 2006 10:57 pm

Hi all!
Does anyone have a cure for my noisy air injection valve? It seems to make way more noise than it should - and certainly more noise than my sisters EA82. Have tried workshop manual but it doesn't seem to mention it anywhere...
Thanks for advice...

The EGR valve maybe? None of the hoses have been dislodged?

OK - Have sussed it - it was the Air Injection Valve Muffler. Part of the PCV System. It's about the siz of a cigarette packet, is made of two black plastic halves that click together and seal. But mine was warped on one side and acting like a megaphone. Seems they get a bit warm in there (behind/below distributor). Have silicone sealed the whole thing and now my car just purrs - what a difference from the banger that it sounded like!
Thanks for your thoughts Suby Wan :o)
