Just wondering if anyone knows the splines on GLAT (L series turbo auto) tranny front stub axles are the same number as that on a standard 5 speed 4WD manual box or are they bigger and more splines as on the turbo manuals ??

* what is behind the wondering is - am I gonna need to change the cv shafts to swap from auto to manual

the auto's n/a and turbo are the smaller spline[23 spline]. A turbo manual L or ej box[both 25 splines] won't fit onto these but if n/a L manual box is 23 spline it will. Also its the same spline as whats on the back diff on a L..

You won't need to change the whole shaft anyway, just the inner CV cup. Quite easy to do, just messy!

messy - you are not wrong there, and you gotta be careful not to drop your balls too !

Nothing worse than dropping your balls and getting dirt in them.
