Hi is it possible to turn a Full time ej 4x4 box into a Part time ej 4x4 box using l series gear sets and all the other stuff?

the idea being that i can have the joys of a l series 5 speed box in my brumby with out using an adaptor plate and i can use the plathora of ej heavy duty clutches when running my ej convert.

Very possible, the L series gearsets will fit inside the EJ front casings, and the rear EA extension housing will bolt up.

I am currently running an EA awd internals in a lib casing with a heavy duty EJ clutch. Works a charm.

There has been some other threads covering some of the details, have a search.

The first gearbox I had was lib internals & rear case onto an L gearbox bellhousing so it'd fit onto my EA82.
It was built by someone else though & was 10 years ago, so I dare say the reverse is possible.

Personally, I'd get a Vortex 4wd extension. That way you can have full time 4wd on the road with a centre diff lock.
The lib gearset & speedo drive will also make your speedo accurate if you've got 14" wheels with the same size tyre as the Lib (which are bigger than any L or brumby)
