I would get a weber carb for it.... but if u must rebuild the stock one then watch out for the little ball bearings and small springs that are sometimes in them.

I have just fitted a weber to my ute, so we could come to some kind of arrange for my old hitachi and mainfold? Total agree with Subarino the weber is the go, however with your upgrade coming i wouldn't bother.

The best jets to use are pri 120 sec 210.
The hitachi's are pretty simple carbs, start with a clean work surface, pay attention and don't get distracted, stick with it from start to finish and you'll be fine.

I have re-kitted both Hitachi and Weber, both are easy enough to rebuild. They come with an exploded diagram supplied in the kits. A can of carby cleaner comes in handy here too.

Your best bet would be across the dally from work, go down bayswater onto dally service road and second right i think, on the left hand side as you enter the street, i think it might be the carbie centre, i can't remember the name for the life of me. I don't think i could be any more vague if i tried.... The company only does carbies basically.

On the fuel bowl side of the jets where they're slotted for a screw driver there should be some writing, that'll be your size.
