The 9 inch clutch plate from my L series 5 speed slid straight onto the input shaft on my EJ 5 speed AWD (Came with an EJ22 from a Gen1 or 2 Liberty) and I could also easily slide the EJ 9 inch clutch plate onto the L series 5 speed, both seemed like a perfect fit.
On the other hand the 8 inch clutch plate from the EJ18 FWD, like the gearbox, was no good for anything

This discovery doesn't really help me at all as I'm going all EJ but I just thought this might be somehow useful to all the EJ->EA box conversions, though I would imagine you'd probably need to go with a thinner adaptor plate and I have no idea what you would do for the starter motor.
