Found in the XT6/ Alcyone-6, the er27 is very rare in Aus, there are a few in NZ
It is basiclly the same as a ea82, but it has 2 more pistons.
They bolt up to the L series gearbox

What are you intending to use it for?
They are pretty hard to find, & finding parts for them can be difficult (there are subtle differences like the oil pump & gaskets).
They also don't fit into the engine bay because they are longer unless you can relocate the radiator.
In a buggy or something else they'd be awesome. You may find it better to use an Oz delivered EJ motor or an SVX EG33 motor (which is even better than the ER27 & bolts directly upto a Liberty gearbox).

I think theres one forsale in WA right now....in the quokka it says "subaru engine flat 6, $1200 with auto gearbox".
Must be an old EA era motor for that seemingly cheap price...

Why wouldn't it be an EG33? You can buy an EJ20T with auto over here for less than $1k. An the EG33 goes into a lot less vehicles. I know of only one other Subie it'll go into properly.
I know someone who had to source a replacement ER27 for his XT6 because the factory one blew. It took a lot of phone calls & replacement parts come from his contacts in the US.

I guess it could be.
I figured they would have a fairly high price tag being fairly rare over here. Virtually never see any Suby 6cyl motors come up for sale.

Tis true they are rare.
Tis also true they don't fit into much either, so they're not sought after.
EG33 in a combi is quite a blast...

I think they fit pretty well into an L series (if you don't mind not having a radiator!)

Like I said earlier. Fit "properly"

I know a fellow who put a EG33 into a combi.
He is at the moment considering putting a er27 into a brumby, (and yes he has the motor)

I put a ER27 into a Brumby, there is a photo on my web sight. Also check out the EG33 in the Lib, we have a EG33 in a brumby on the work shop floor.

Remember following that Brumby last time I was in Adelaide. Well at least I figured it was that one because there was a radiator perched up on the "roll" bar.
Not sure aobut the Lib version though. Having the radiator out in front where the grill used to live is not my version of neat (or legal?). Just my opinion though.
i'll be over in Adelaide next month. Will have to find time to drop in & say G'day.
