WRX centre diff - into L series box?
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... &rd=1&rd=1
Any way this could fit into an L series d/r box?

I think youd need the rest of the wrx internals
Long live the 1990 Subaru Brumby 2" lifted and soon to be mig locked

few self-respecting ricers would spend the time to modify a Daewoo.

No i dont think so, but apparently you can put a wrx front lsd into the l series FT4wd Box. A guy on the usmb did it
Current rides: 2016 Mitsubishi Triton GLS & 2004 Forester X
Ongoing Project/Toy: 1987 RX Turbo EA82T, Speeduino ECU, Coil-pack ignition, 440cc Injectors, KONI adjustale front struts, Hybrid L Series/ Liberty AWD 5sp
Past rides: 92 L series turbo converted wagon, 83 Leone GL Sedan, 2004 Liberty GT Sedan & 2001 Outback

If you grab a D/R Liberty gearbox, put it's output gears, pinion shaft and rear casing in your EA82's gearbox. Using the EA82's low range gears, and input gear set. Then you should be able to fit the tighter(?) centre VLSD out of the WRX in that.. You will also need to custom your gearbox crossmember.

This is what i've already talked about roughly 6 months ago... Hope it helps and i still hope to do this some day as it will be quicker for me than waiting for a Dual Range AWD L series gearbox to appear in my shed...

Hope its of some value.
And i say a tight LSD cos somewhere along the lines i heard that a standard centre diff is a 5kg LSD in the EJ Dual range boxes and the WRX's had a 'tighter' centre diff rated at 20kg.
As Phizinza said, swap the EJ gearset into the EA box add EJ extension housing to EA box with WRX LSD centre diff. You'll probabily have to shorten you gear selector shaft as well as custom the crossmember. There's a little thing you'll have to do with the D/R selector as you'll read in the above thread.
Cheers

If your using a L gearbox casing, not the EJ box, it will make it harder to put the detent in for the low range (I assume this is what your talking about "little thing you'll have to do with the D/R selector.") Because the casing doesn't have a detent in it like the EJ casing does. So you would need to ally weld sometihng to the casing. But, from what I've read about the twin stick (for low range 2wd) you don't need that detent anyhow. I've talked to a guy how has driven for half a year in his daily driver with no detent on the low range, and it has never popped out or been an issue. So I think the detent talk is all just a bit of over engineering.
The gear selector shaft for the D/R liberty box are the same as the L series box..
And if you are wondering what all this detent stuff is (because you can't find a single pic of a low range detent thingy on the net.) Just have a look at these.

That's what i was saying. If i was ever able to do this i think i'd still put the dedent in, its there for a purpose. Anyway, thats not what we're here to talk about.Phizinza wrote:If your using a L gearbox casing, not the EJ box, it will make it harder to put the detent in for the low range (I assume this is what your talking about "little thing you'll have to do with the D/R selector.") Either way, the center LSD will, from what i've read/heard, fit in the L casing with EJ internals using the rear EJ extension housing.
