91 Camry Dies on acceleration (non subaru)

Post by Gannon » Tue Mar 20, 2007 5:13 pm

I know i have asked about this before, but the problem went away and now it has come back again, but this time worse.

The engine dies/ coughs/ sputters when you try to accelerate quickly.
If i slowly accelerate its ok, but when i accelerate to take off normally, it dies until you get to about 3k rpm, then it is ok.

I even thought i heard a bit of a backfire in the intake one time, but i am unsure exactly.

It is a 3S-fe engine 2l twin cam.

I suspect the AFM (its a flapper type)

It has a new fuel filter and air filter

Any suggestions welcome
