ok teck ? time from a dumy . with this car comes 2 gearboxes ones got a button on the gearstick what for ?????????? second box the guy said it was vacuum overdrive ????????? can i use any of this stuff to convert my 92 brumby to a 5 speed.? has 4 sunraiser style wheels 13 but (cheese cutters) also lookin for 2 inch lift kit who sells new ones and how much.? list to follow dibs

ya the button on the stick is to shift from front wheel drive to 4 wheel drive... i think when he says 'vacuum overdrive' he's talking about the 4wd shifter system...

see, when you press that button, it sends an electrical signal to a vacuum acutator that will pull on a cable on the trans, which in turn, shifts the car into 4wd... its called an electrical over vacuum over mechanical shifter... complicated and annoying in my books...

both of those trannies should bolt up to your brumby motor... sounds like they are both the same aswell... so you'll have push button 4wd on both... you'll lose your dual range trans which i think is way better... keep the 4 speed dual range! unless you're doing LOADS of highway cruising i wouldn't use the pushbutton 5 speed boxes...

the more i ask the more i learn lol i shoulda done this inschool . im geting to know a bit more about subis as time goes on . sorta rememberin things i over hear people talkin about.i definatly dont want to loose low rang so will keep lookin .just hopin other stuff will be of use. will let you know when i get it home.

i have a brand new 2 inch lift kit for sale. $300 plus postage, which to queensland will be around $30.

this was a $475 kit when i bought it.

dw mate we are all learning. i didnt know **** when i first joined up this forum, but now i reckon i know all the mechanical basics plus loads of random suba info. they teach u a lot the guys on this forum. :)

lift kit wheels 5 speed buger il have to hurry up n save some $$ so i can get my act together . if the gears around when i got the money id love to buy it thanks guys
