Compression/oil prob ej22

just done a compression test,i've got 170 in 1 ,170 in 2,195 in 3,150 in 4 dry test.Wet test 170 in1,180 in 2,195 in 3,160 in 4.The motor is using a bit of oil about 1L in about 1300km.What the go?apart from that it seems to run fine.

sounds like its got some wear in your rings....i wouldnt worry about its only marginal......

if its using oil id say its you rings or valve stem seals

You will have clagged up rings which mean you will have to pull pistons and remove the varnish by hand then replace the rings. Since the motor is that far apart overhaul the heads replace seals and its all good or another 300000kms

Well any second hand motor you buy to replace it will be a gamble on it being any better then the one you have in there anyway at least if you do the work you will know the condition of the engine
