Hey,

I need help with an Ea-82, I overhauled the engine, new piston rings, got a standard crank shaft and bearings, o-rings, everything , part from an oil pump. Now what’s happening is that the oil light isn’t going off, what could be the problem? This is my second oil pump and the same problem, what was happening before was the oil light was going on but on idle when driving it goes off but now its constant there and I even changed the oil filter twice what could be the problem where? (And there are no leaks at all).

you do realize the oil lamp is oil pressure sensing?check wire to the oil pressure sensor/switch for continuity, it could be faulty too?
you didn't put the oil pump in the wrong way? very easy to do that!

yer i would take the sensor out and put a gauge in to see how much oil pressure it has

new switches are about ten bucks, cheap diagnostics

Changed the oil switch tested the cable its k. hmmm what do you mean putting the oil pump in the wrong way? Well as far as I know on the oil pump the shaft has a mark like “B” on it, and the bearing has the “B” mark as well, so that’s the way I used is that correct?. Can you help me out with instructions on how to connect a Pressure gauge and Oil temp sensor? (Preferred pics if possible).

dunno if it is a bearing as such, you have the inner rotor and the outer rotor. the B or o marks face the block on assembly and you do have clearances to check with a feeler gauge, also non serviceable pressure valves inside that may be gunked up. soak body in solvents ? may not be able to do this in case there are rubber seals inside CHECK THIS OUT BEFORE YOU DO

Fixed it finally, the prob was the oil pump's shaft had a play got it engineered. End of prob
