Brumby + L series 5 speed: things to know would be?

Post by El_Freddo » Mon Jul 09, 2007 2:13 pm

Hey all,

i've got a mate who's looking at grabbing a brumby but isn't too keen on the 4 speed as it seems a little sloppy. I've told them that the L series 5 speed would be a good option to swap with.

I don't know what the finer detail are but i'm thinking i'll need:

L series gearbox cross-member
L seires tail shaft
L series selector (plus console to fit it all in nicely)

Is there anything else i'll need - speedo cable?

Do you use the MY/brumby clutch or change it to the L clutch/flywheel and if so what do you do about timing marks on the fly wheel?

Any other info that i havn't asked about thats worth mentioning would be greatly appreicated, as would the answers to the above.

Cheers

Read my complete story in the tech manuals, but an early fix might be $25 worth of roll pins and bottom of gearstick joint socket. Subie dealer stuff.
