that is gonna depend on if you want to replicate a Subaru factory turbo (efi) installation or just 'a conversion' using the carby, or even LPG set up.

The EA81t has different heads to the EA81 carby, as the injector bosses are in the actual heads themselves, unlike the EA82T which has the injectors in the intake.
The EA81t will also have lower comp pistons and an oil inlet and outlet port on the head for the turbo.
You would probably be better gettin a complete motor.

you would also need a efi wiring loom or custom engine management setup

Completely different engine, Suparoo mentioned some, then there's cam, lifters, etc. etc.

and a word of warning.... I started out buying a turbo crossover pipe on ebay for $18, intending to wack a turbo on my gas EA81 then my parts collection got out of hand. I now have an L series auto turbo sedan EA82T now goes !, a spare rolling shell with turbo 4WD compliance plate as well, enough bits to build another motor for my other Brumby, spare the bloody rusted out metal hoses.
Becomes very time consuming to learn and clean all the bits and get it al back together and running

And thats the fun of it! If your keen to do it and know what its all about but still have some questions, someone will know.
Go for it, even if its a learning curve and you say you should'a gone for an EJ20G or something a little more substansial.
Cheers

and after pulling my old EA81 apart this arvo in no time and heaps less parts than an EA82T I was thinking to myself "still need to turbo this baby when i replace the CACTUS middle crank bearing, heaps less parts if it breaks"
Jeff, you say suck through which also means draw through which should mean the turbo sucks the air and mixture through the carby - what sort of carby and where was it ??

the carby looked standard and it was at yandina qld
It is for sale if anyone is interested i can put you in touch with the owner

I think this is a drawthrough setup,
Homemade turbo setup
If you do drawthrough, you need to add extra seals to the compressor side of the turbo because at closed throttle, it will experience manifold vaccum, and without the seals, will suck in oil

Dont stuff around with the EA81 in search of power go the EJ22 and save yourself a heap of hassle

That's a blow through, not a draw through.
Carb is in stock location and pressurised from turbo.

Woops!
It is a blow through, my mistake
In which case, you will have to pressureise the float bowl to prevent underfueling
