ej22 engine mods
hi all
just about to build up a ej 22 block,ej18 heads,18 injection gear
has any one done this,if so what pros/cons about this conversion
the reason for 18 injection as my wireing is done

Might have a smaller chamber would probabily = higher compression depending on what the cam timing is doing. The valves may be smaller too - you'd want to check this out.SuBaRiNo wrote:Wouldn't using ej18 heads be a down grade?

On old holdens a trick to get them moving with the old sixes was to get a head from an engine size below (or two below) what you have - these have smaller chambers and help easily increase compression, with a good cam etc you'd have a sweet performance engine...
I reckon there'll be problems with the computer and leaning out, it may adjust itself enough to get by but could be outside the fuel delivery range. Larger injectors may help.
