MUDRAT's edit:

Hi: just changing a trans out of 83 wagon - old one seems fine (as parts would be).

The "new" one was in an '82 wagon exchanged.

Now: the torque converter won't fit up to the flex plate! I have axcess to an L-series tranny and the torque converter was the same upon further inspection; flex plate is same as the L-series so I'm guessing the bell housing is differnt, but the flex plate mounting bolt holes are different diameter.

Is there an early or late flex plate and torque converter?!? Idea?
