what box is this
today i got a gearbox .the guy said it was 5 speed and the gear knob on the floor did to .i got home and theres heaps of diference.
clutch fork on other side of center split
high low 4wd goes through back of box then to front on right side of box ( I think thats what it is )
much heavier robust box
no extention housing to speek of
tin plate on top at back
tail shaft is longer with center bearing
what bafels me is theres only 1 shifter rod on left at back and cant seam to work it through the gears

sounds like an Lseries 5 speed DR box.
basically alot of clutches will fit.
clutch disc can be a 9inch OD Lseries or Liberty (theyre the same neway)
can be used with a 9inch MY flywheel and pressureplate or an Lseries flywheel and Pressureplate.
Lseries clutch fork and release bearing is the only way to go but
if ur running an EJ then yes it will still use the same adapter plate as a 4speed.

Dibs, you probably won't be able to change gears unless you're holding the support bolt in one place as you move the gear stick. The L series uses the body to support the base of the gear shifter linkage, as opposed to the EA81 4 speed that used the box as its support base.
Give that a go. I really think you've got the 5 spd EA82 box - which i think is what you're after unless you wanted a replacement 4 spd box (which would drop straight into your brumby/MY without any mods)...
No adaptor plate needed for an EA81 to the 5 spd, but will need it if EJ to 5spd (as matatak has said)...
