Hi all , every time I go to remove EA82 inner covers the brass insert in the plastic strips and you can't remove the bolts .

Are these available new and for what sort of money ?

Cheers A .

Hey, always have the same problem, end up cutting them off with cutting wheel on grinder, luckily they are the ones where I can put a bolt and nut on.

Leave em off???

I dunno how legal it is, but it looks cool

Plus you can see if your camshaft seals leak

hehehe... how true.

I'd be doing the nut and bolt trick with a few washers as scrumpy said... You'd get quite a bit of muck on those belts and they're covered for a reason. If you do leave them off i'd be checking the belt condition at set intervals as I'd reckon the chance of belt failure would dramatically rise.

Cheers

I bought an inner passenger side cam cover (the large of the two) for about 70ish. I recon a full set would be a bit cheaper than individual.

When you put them on dont tighten them very much and they come off easy next time.

If someone else who dont know the problem they cam be very tight.

Don't they just upset you greatly ? I now do them up with a little o ring to grip between bolt and cover - and not tight enough to cause grief next time around. It took me three motors to get a reasonably decent set. You almst need to surgically remove a third of the nuts surround and rebuild it with araldite or something .
