Leaking Headlight, indicator..
Hi guys,
One of my side indicators from my quad light has accumulated rain water one night. Because they are the L sereis quad light and i can't easily get another one i was thinking if anyone know how to fix it?
I look at it and it doesn't seem to have any holes or cracks. So i'm guessing its the glue holding it together thats allowing water in. I know that you can put the glass headlights in the oven and this makes the glue melt so you can take it apart.
Do you guys think i can do the same thing with the plastic indicator?
Also at what temp and how long should i leave it in?
What glue should i use to put it back together?

I'd look at how so much water can makes it's way in there.. even if the light had a crack or hole, surely not that many rain drops would hit the right spot everytime
sounds like you've got a great water making machine hidden behind the light somewhere

Gosh, Pauls reply reminds me , saw a pic of a Brumby with EJ conversion and auto with ECUs mounted on the top side of the under tray below steering column - if that is yours - get a raincoat just in case - cover from above

Drill a tiny hole in the bottom of the plastic at the lowest point, I fixed the tail lights on my young blokes Falcon years ago doing the same thing, dried up within a day and never had a problem after that.

No Jonno.. the goldfish bowl was a brillant idea and with Guyph's collection of animals, it would fit right in 
I too have had that whole water leak on the ECU. It happened on my daugthers RX Leone. Gotta love Subaru for putting them there but I guess if the windscreen is in good nick then there shouldn't be an issue.
Tom's idea is good.. maybe a small hole in the rear case but that doesn't solve the problem of it getting in there

Have you washed the car with a high pressure hose? I got water in my headlight that way. Or maybe water splashing up from the wheel into the back?
I wouldnt put the plastic in the oven...too much risk of pulling out an ashtray!
I like the idea of the small drainage hole if you glue it back up when dry but as Paul says it doesnt solve how it got in there & if you dont fix that it'll just happen again.
If you want to run some glue around the join i'd suggest using plastic glue like from building those little models you did as a kid.
Hope you get it sussed...little things like that can be so frustrating!
