Engine bay wiring

Post by mattneggar » Sat Mar 17, 2012 4:28 pm

I have hooked up all my wiring apart from a wire that i cannot figure where it goes. This wire is an earth wire on the drivers side that is near the brake booster and a plug in about the middle of the car if anyone has an idea where it goes be greatly appreciated

G'day Matt,

If you could tell us more about your subi - make, model year etc we might be able to help you much easily. At the moment your subi could be anything with the six star logo!

And if you've got a photo even better ;)

Cheers

I'm going out on a limb here (as pics would really help) but I'm goig to say the earth wire is an earth and needs to be bolted to the main body of the car and the plug could be from the brake fluid reservior.

Please send pics to confirm

I'm guessing it's hanging from the body of the vehicle? To me it sounds like it might need to be connected to the gearbox - have you had this out?

Not that it's really important, subaru were obviously being over cautious with their earthing - I've not had mine connected for a few years now due to the lift kit and the fact that I've not been bothered to replace the mounting clip on the end of the wire... This wire on my L series just mounts to the body, it's not integrated into the loom.

If that's not the one let us know.

Cheers

Yes that is correct I had the engine and gearbox out due to a selector problem all fixed now that bit. But yes that is the wire.

Sweet. Just bolt it to something on the gearbox that it reaches and you'll be sorted ;)

Glad it was an easy one!
