EA82t engine connector pinout...help

Post by Hyfly » Fri May 11, 2012 6:50 pm

Guys how's goin',

I'm busy installing Mega-squirt on my engine but I have a little problem. The pinout in my manual is not the pinout of my motor harness and I can't find it anywhere!

Can anyone help me with the correct pinout for my connectors??

This is whats in the book:

The 2 connectors hanging on the right side are the ones I have, they are round and not like in the book....

By looking at the turbo intake, it looks like a series 2 engine that was produced from 88 onwards so that means it has a hotwire air flow meter and an optical distributer, you can tell as there will be no vacuum advance diaphragm on the side of it and it will have 4 wires going through a rounded 4 pin plug.

This engine is the same electrically as the MPFI EA82 from 88 and 89 touring wagons and the Vortex of the same years
Current rides: 2016 Mitsubishi Triton GLS & 2004 Forester X
Ongoing Project/Toy: 1987 RX Turbo EA82T, Speeduino ECU, Coil-pack ignition, 440cc Injectors, KONI adjustale front struts, Hybrid L Series/ Liberty AWD 5sp
Past rides: 92 L series turbo converted wagon, 83 Leone GL Sedan, 2004 Liberty GT Sedan & 2001 Outback

Hi Gannon, that is correct, and the manual shows everything you just said. But the only thing is that the motor harness connectors don't match anything....

The only place I have seen a square connector is on a Vortex XT Alcyone and is up near centre just below windscreen. Round connectors for engine block loom to body are round both turbo and dizzy side.

Is the engine Nederland delivery or import from elsehwere ?

You can help us help you if you can list what plugs you have each side, call them dizzy side and turbo side, number of wires, position and colours, so we don't lead you astray and burn out your new ECU !
