Ecu
Ecu
Hey guys, just a question about the ecu on my Vortex. I know with newer cars that if you disconnect the battery and reconnect it, when you start the car you're meant to do it with no ga pedal and leave it idling for 10 mins so the ecu can remap and set the engine right. I've done it myself with my 98 mirage, I pumped the pedal when I turned it over, it went but wouldn't idle so I disconnected the power, reconnected it, started it with no pedal and it was fine. Are these ECU's the same?

NOTE: Do this on a "cold" engine. Leave it sit overnight and do it in the morning.
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal cable for 45-60 minutes.
( I leave mine overnight)
2. Reconnect the negative battery terminal cable.
3. Turn off all your accessories.
4. Start the car, but DO NOT touch the throttle at all.
5. Let the car idle for 10-15 minutes, or until the car is at normal operating temperature. Again, do not touch the throttle.
6. Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position.

while that thread is for EJ motors, the ECU reset will work for you. ECU

Also make sure A/c & lights are off. Allow to idle until the fans cycle on then offTOONGA wrote:NOTE: Do this on a "cold" engine. Leave it sit overnight and do it in the morning.
