I am half way thru the EJ conversion - onto the wiring, and I have hit a snag

the manual shows only 4 wires from the alternator White, White, BlackWhite & Yellow - but mine has a Green as well ??? Does anyone know what this extra wire is please.
Cheers
Tony

Normally on the back of the alt is a wiring diagram/pin idenity
Which alt are you using the one with a round plug or a square plug?

Thanks SL. I'm using the round plug type, 89 EJ S1G1. When I pulled the loom off the donor car I somehow managed to miss the alternator wires, seems they went thru the front loom (lights etc) rather than the EMS loom thru the mudguard. when I went to the wreckers to look for the wiring most of the cars after 90 had the wiring thru the EMS loom. The car is sitting at work (where I'm doin the swap) so I will check the sticker in the morning.
Once again thanks for your help

the early ej alt had a sense wire which needs power when the ignition is on, this could be the green. If you can get a later alt ,no sensing wire and more reliable.
