BAC Valve error code

Post by LongtimeAddict » Thu Sep 25, 2008 8:30 pm

Please help guys i'm desperate, going on holidays on Saturday and my ej22 conversion has gone belly up.
Finally got the car running, driving nicely, and suddenly its coughs n splutters then stalls. did it a couple of times so came home and checked the codes and its 24 - BAC valve & 21 Temp curcuit ( haven't wired in the temp gauge yet )
Checked resistance terminals 1 & 3 back to ecu - fine.
Power to terminal 2 12 volts.
voltage at ecu pin B1 7 volts.
voltage at ecu pin B2 7 volts, book says B2 should be 9 volts.
Resistance between terminals on the valve 10ohms

Does the temp gauge affect operation of the BAC valve ??????

Any suggestions would be enormously appreciated :(:(:(

The temp sender that ecu gets it info from is not the same sender the temp gauge uses.Pretty sure it has nothing to do with the BAC.

Thanks SL. It all just got way more complicated. no longer showing code 21 & 24 - started showing 23 & 24 MAF & BAC. Checked out the maf and all voltages etc are spot on. Disconnected the ECU, left it off for 10 mins and now not giving any codes :confused::confused:

I'm beginning to think its the ECU itself. Has anyone had an ECU go? And if so what were the symptoms? Does anyone agree or disagree?
