Hi there, I am new to this forum and new to Subaru's can anyone tell me is there an easy way - suitable location to run a spare battery in a 97 Subaru Forester (non turbo). Or a solution I haven't considered... I want to run my Engel fridge for and extended period and often travel alone.

thanks in advance

Joe

Others will know more than me about the Forry system but I wuld just get a battery Box and use a Glasspack DeepCycle battery in the back of the car right next to the Fridge. The only thing you will need to do is run the Battery cable underneath the car and drill a suitable size hole fit a rubber grommet and slide the cable through.

in my car I have an AGM battery (fully sealed) mounted in the rear right behind my fridge. Run the battery cable down the side of the floorpan alongside the factory wiring. No need to put it under the car.

Be sure to fuse / circuit breaker both ends right at the battery and use an automatic battery isolator like a redarc or baintech for best results.

what size fridge you running? My 75AH AGM runs my 50L waeco for 3 days easily. Havnt tried much longer than that without running the car

Something like that. Build it yourself if you know how or just get that one.
