1995 Liberty A/C failure

Having tested the pressure and temperature limit switches as OK. I checked out the control relays. The fan relay is energised when A/C button pressed but compressor relay is not. Measuring with a volt meter there is supply to the relay coil but no earth return. This earth return is there sometimes and then compressor starts. Usually A/C starts and gets to the point where the thermostat turns it off, later there will be momemary turn on and then nothing. Seems like a thermostat failure.
The manual I have is no real help in finding the thermostat. Can anybody tell me where it can be found?

Is there enough gas? sometimes people dont realise there is not enough gas in the system and causing it to stop working, you're better off to be on safe side is to take it to air conditioning mechanic. If you know what youre doing go ahead. But my advice is to go to the mechanic - less mucking around etc.
Cheers

Thanks Toonga. A comprehensive set of documents. I see thermostat is on top of the evaporator module. Great help.

Thanks AlpineRaven. Yes the gas was checked by an air con person. All 100%. He could not find a problem, even checked it for no charge. The problem was intermittent, now quite consistent as described.

Has this had anything to do with the ambient temperature of the cabin? My wife's 94 Lib has perfect AC until it is left in the sun and the cabin temp is high. It runs for maybe 30 seconds, cuts out and doesn't work until the interior is cooled by opening the windows etc. Hot humid days when needed most it refuses to work at all, is this anything like your problem??
