Hi guys

I put my head deck in my 93 liberty last night all seemed to had gone well but now my dash lights and interior lights do not come on when I turn my lights on.

I wasn't aware that the interior lights went through the original head unit

does anyone know of how I can fix this?

Cheers Tim

Fuses?

Oh, and that the dimmer control has not turned down...(these things happen!)

Hi blue23,

Yeah I have the exact same problem with a mates car. We tried everything, checking all fuses, checking all bulbs twice, swapping the cluster, and swapping the dimmer control unit but nothing worked.

I was not able to solve this one.

Any one fixed that problem before?
Plz help us:)

P.s this reminded me of updating my post on the RSliberty forum. i'll let you know if something comes up and plz do the same.
Try testing all those things i tested too hopefully you will fix it:s

I think what it might be is the wiring that ran fron one of the plugs from the standard head unit, I am going to try and re-run the old plugs so the wires are grounded and see how it goes.

Will post up how it goes once done!

you didn't mistake the dash light wire for the earth when wiring up the head unit did you? You should always run the head unit earth direct to chassis when installing an aftermarket head unit.

Yeahh what 'point' mentioned is right, that earth that you tested as an 'earth', try testing it with the park lights on and it disappears. This is the illumination wire and we get about 2 cars a week into work with the same problem. That wire tests as an earth with the lights off but with the lights on its a power wire. Also the fuse would hav blown which explains your zero dash lights and interior light. Hope this helped mate :)
