GC (first style) or GD (bugeye) Impreza?

All ignition switches should be interchangeable, even with L series, the only difference will be the wire colours

My 1997 GC wiring diagram says that
Batt = black/yellow
Acc = red/yellow
Ign = red
Start = blue/red

2002 GD diagram says
Batt = black
Acc = yellow
Ign = green
Start = white/black

1992 BC Liberty
Batt = black/yellow
Acc = red/yellow
Ign = red
Start = blue/red

Post a pic of what you've got

Ahh you mean ignition relay.

If you just want to replace it with another relay, it will plug straight in, they were all the same, even if the wire colours are different.

If you want to replace it with 2 bosch relays, you will need to show me the wiring diagram you have for the Gen1 BC Liberty

Liberty MY96 BD6. Wire colours are the same for the first 4, ie light green, black (both thin wires), then the two yellow, one with green, one with red. BUT your last two are black, mine are both red.

Image copied from other thread.

Your Ignition relay

Just copy the diagram, terminals 1, 2 and 3 are the same as yours, and with terminal 4, yellow green instead of yellow red, terminal 5 and 6 are both black red instead of yellow

Maybe you should try to source a new replacement relay if it is giving you issues.

Send a PM to FROG, he will get you a good price on a genuine item

Here is the issue.. sorry I missed it but they DO NOT like cleaning. They have a hot wire sensor in there and any little drop (even cleaner will leave residue) will cause issues. I would definately try one off another car. Impreza have and some Liberty have the same model/type.
