hi
can climate control be fitted from a say 1998 liberty to a 1996 liberty that does not have climate control?

If you're referring to electric climate control to replace manual one - you can do that but you will need to replace the airbox and electrics - it involves removing the whole dash.

Big job as like AP said, you need to swap all the wiring for it. Unless you have all the bits you'll be pulling your hair out
