I'd say the crystal has given way and as a result the timing is out.
As for other clocks that fail, its usually the big resistor that goes open circuit. Should be an easy fix for somebody handy with a soldering iron

My Pulsar used to do that too, you would reset it and then a few weeks later it would be 10 mins fast and it would keep getting faster and faster until you changed it again. It was good for making you hurry up though on your way to places, it was like you were running late

I thought we went through this a few years go Jonno - you don't throw them, pull them apart and re-solder the dry/fried joints and hey presto! A working L series clock once again.steptoe wrote:Just be happy it works , I've tossed five for not working!

They've not bothered me since, "Bennie" .
