Identify the ECU

Post by t.ridden » Sat Jul 05, 2014 7:36 pm

Hi all.
Highly confused and Google isn't helping, so lets play a game...

I pulled this ECU out of my Subaru yesterday (Leaving model, engine, etc unspecified, year is after-1990, pre-2000).
What can you tell me about the engine, transmission and model that this ECU belongs to?

Good luck and many thanks in advance!!

As per your thread on USMB

go to this site

http://jdmfsm.info/Auto/Japan/Subaru/

choose the legacy outback section and find your year

The FSMs are very concise

Hi Toonga,
Thanks for the links, but as helpful as those sites are, the FSM's do not make any reference to the single-plug-with-bolt design that I have. Some seem close but the pin arrangements are always different.
I think it may be because the FSM's do not reference for the ej25 models…
Anyway, i think I've found a contact on USMB who may have them

Cheers,
Tom

I have the pin out for that ECU :)

Taken from that site in the Legacy / outback section

sadly you cannot link individual sections from that site but I can email it to you if you want.

EDIT!!!!

Ok so the one I have is a little different to yours sorry I'm now on a Quest to find it Like Benoit did :)

Haha, no probs man, you see my confusion now!
I've got my hands on a "normal" ecu now and a loom, but I'll see how I go with my USMB contact.

Yeah fun and games I got all the way to a link for the pinout, only to have a 404 come up :(

Im currently looking at Legacy FSMs to see if I can find one, but since you have a normal loom and ECU I would go with that one :)
