manifold connectors/harness/ECU?

Post by 4ca » Thu Nov 10, 2005 2:52 pm

Hi guys/girls,

I have an EJ22 engine from a 98 liberty gx from a wrecker, the manifold that came with the engine is not the original. Couple of questions:

1) Is there a way to tell from the connectors whether it is compatible with this engine? It has two large grey squares and one smaller white square connector.

2) If the manifold has come from a earlier model, can I just get an ECU and harness that will fit the connectors and expect it to run the engine?(given the right things like it being an auto etc)

3) If I was to source a full harness and ECU, including the sensors, can I just apply it to the engine/manifold and expect it to run?

Any help appreciated

Cheers

Are you using a subaru 4 spd auto behind it?

It sounds like a gen2 manifold, are the plugs at the bellhousing on the drivers side?
You can bolt a gen 1 manifold on and run it with an early ecu if you want, the base engines are the same.
