Anyone know to connect sheilded wires together?i have a bit of sheilded wire with 3 wires going to a g/box plug that,s not long enough to reach the tcu,at the other end i have a tcu plug with a long lenght of sheild wire with 3 wires also at the plug but where it is cut in the middle there are only 2 wires and a bit of sheilding.I'm thinking that one of the 3 wires is joined into the sheilding at each plug end.

As a general principle, all you need to do is to join the individual internal wires, insulate them and connect the two shields together. In an automotive application it very likely wouldn't matter if you didn't wrap up the zone with the joins in shielding.

Possibly. You'll be able to tell using your multimeter.

craigues is right, its not the best way to do it but just joining the shield should be fine for a sensor shield... if you have issues though you know where to look.

If you ground the Shielding where the join is, it will save you running a new one if you get noise issues

it is probably much the same as joining O2 sensor wires, might be where some problems do start ? Hmmm...
