Hi guys,

Just blew an alternator on my ea82, and just wondering where I can buy a new regulator and install it myself and save a few bucks!

Are you sure its the regulator that blew?

Well thats the opinion of the mechanics where i work, they reckon 95% of alternators its the reg / diodes that are stuffed, not the windings ???? I just want it for a spare for my central aussie trip.

Well you should be able to buy them as auto electricians can buy them to rebuild alternators. Try your local parts store.

Do you have a good soldering iron, cos the connections are soldered to the windings. You will also need an impact driver with a good philips head bit to open the alternator case
