22 spline INTERNAL comes off a FWD carby L series. they are 19.5" long. look for 1 band onthe shaft itself. 4wd are two bands and DO NOT FIT.

nope. in my case : gen 1 liberty inners->L series carby shafts->gen 2 liberty outers. that nets the correct length shafts in my case for a 5 stud swap.

in my case with a 4spd auto that works. best to look at what you have (inners.) and work outward from there. I had to work from the middle with mine. do you know how to pull the CVs apart??

best thing to do (other than look on ebay..) is to get to a driveshaft shop and get their book. that way you have the original length of your shafts and spline count. from there find the same shaft in the correct length and spline.

if you are doing a 5 stud swap - then no the ebay one will not work.

hit a few yards and crawl under a few cars. thats what I did. the driveshaft shop will be an immense help if you can get a peek at that book.

do you know how long your original shaft is??

ok the inners are the easiest, pop thhem out and get a spline count.

ok but you know how long the original shaft is correct? now one if the liberty ends will look odd. that end (in my case) is a 30 spline item. the other end should be 22. now its a case of finding your shaft length in a 22 spline item on both ends. thats where the 22spline L carby items come in. they are 22 spline on both ends. measure yours and get the length of them then go hunting.

30 splines? What are they off?
I thought most EJ inner cups were 25 spline.

Pretty sure Carby L series inner cups are 23 spline and EFI ones are 25 same as Libs...havn't heard of 22 spline in a Subaru before?

that ebay shaft in the pic is a 22 spline if it is an MY. The little groove near the inner joint means 22 spline on MY shafts.(but not other models).Make sure that is the actual shaft you get if you buy from ebay.
I have a couple if you can't get any.

gen 2 legacy GT - 23 spline one end 30 on the other. turbo 4wd L are 25 spline - NA 4wd is 23 spline. 22 is on a early carbed L series FWD. thats what is under mine.
