Is it mostly a direct fit? I've also seen a wagon in town that has '95 impreza GT motor in it. I would like to know the differences so i could have an idea how hard it is to do. Also, doesn't the impreza motor offer much more mods? Does the legacy motor have HI/Low drive?

Wicked photos of your L in the snow! We don't get that in oz...

If your after techical info on your current motor, check out the tech manual, there are some really good PDF's on the ins and outs of that vehicle.

To fit the GT motor you talk of you'll need to mod the cross member, wire in the computer and loom, put the EJ box in (prob best option for you in the snow as it will have AWD), play around with a few bits and pieces and its in.

Check out this thread: Fitting an EJ Motor into an MY or L Series Subaru, it should have all the info your after...

Cheers
