I wanna know what u guys think, would it work? i wanna put something on there 2 protect my car cause where i live u see alot of roo and wallaby at night. It was suggested to me before but i don't know where u would mount it.

Bend a coat-hanger into a bullbar shape, then use some double-sided tape and stick it to the bumper. It should be nearly big enough to protect the entire front end

Jokes aside...

Look for a bullbar off a Suzuki Mighty Boy or similar (or any other small car that might have had a bullbar)

I dont know how you would mount it as i have never seen the underside of a Sherpa

I think the force would stand a better chance of deflecting a roo.

Honestly, they made a nudge bar for them, but I've never actually seen one. So you probably be best making or getting something made.

If your going to hit a roo in a sherpa, bullbar or not, your screwed anyway... there's not much car there!

If you do mount a bullbar and hit a roo, you'll probabily bend a rail and save all your front end panels. Without a bullbar you'll probabily damage all your panels but retain your rails in relatively good nick, that's provided the car doesn't crush like an aluminium can with what ever trim its in...

Good luck, get big lights and slow down... probabily the best advice I can give - that and don't allow the roo to get in front of the car if its headed your way - less damage in a side hit.

There goes your fuel efficency and handling. If you go a bullbar consider the weight of it in relation to the car a nudge bar sounds alright though.

An alloy bar would be fine...should be soft enough to bend rather than pass the impact to the rails, and light enough to not affect the weight distribution.

What about those fibreglass "bullbars" that were around the 70's they shouldn't add too much weight to Sherpa and give you some protection.

actually i might think about one of those fibreglass one if i can get ones if it's not going 2 cost me 2 much

And saeble... thanks for the idea... but no thanks. i think one of those ones would bugger my fuel economy and i don't wanna be filling up 2 much specially when i have 2 do trips from hobart 2 launceston every so often in my car

you may have trouble finding a poly or a plastic tube bully that fits such an obscure and tiny car. No diss, it's just marketing, lots more commos and falcons on the road, (right now).

You can go light in steel or alloy and it doesn't have to be as large and F#$% OFF as mine. Mine was built to take a full length roof rack eventually, not to mention being the roo bouncing potential. 50mm steel ERW tube is pretty light and strong as buggery and it also doesn't fatigue anywhere near as badly as ally does.

There's not much point in a bar at all unless it's capable of catching the critter without wrecking your front end. What I hate about a good few designs is that there is no attempt to build energy absorption into the design. It's why I use a bolt tension/friction mount to hold it in place.
