hi guys.. im from malaysia which my soob is rare here.
recently, i've convert the ea81 to ej20g
unfortunately, no subaruclub members (http://mysubaruclub.com) willing to gv any opinion
coz they all newschool.. :p
not running yet coz lack of fund...

problem with the conversion is,
front lower arm is cut n joint
im worried bout this.
any idea guys?

Wooo well done mate! I've got 3 early subes none are standard. keep up the good work! ( and post pictures ).

welcome to the forum Motard.

You should be worried about a "cut and shut" drive shaft. If not done properly they can be very dangerous and unreliable. They are seldom done over here and are illegal to do anyway.

Have you read the thread about EJ conversions? There should be some info in there.

Are you using the standard EA81 4spd gearbox or have you dropped the EJ box in as well?

yeah dude.. which part shud i use?there is no xt model at junkyard here..
im plonk straight away the ej gb with some alter on the shaft (cut n joint too!)
my original spec is fwd.

problem with the mounting is
each time i want to change spark plug,
i've to pull out the engine regarding the chasis rail issue...

so far, my front drive shaft is custom made..

You should be able to mix and match driveshaft parts to make one the correct length using standard parts. Search abit on the forum it should be covered somewhere. Well done on the progress so far!

good work so far mate, as andrewt said mix and match sharfts to get what you need, as for custom length lower arm look here showthread.php?t=4919&page=42

check out the whole thread will help you heaps with your car.

as far as spark plugs go put platnum or irridium plugs in so you only have to change every 100,000km
