i think as long as you have the guard support rods in behind the guard to the frame of the car your right....as for the winch...if your fitting a wich to an alloy bar you may need to look at a support plate to go between the wich n bar...add thickness and strength..you could also look at bracing from the point were the wich bolts bact to the bar mount point..there are some bar places up your way that will be able to look at it and give better ideas..i think western townsville way from memmory?

Just out of interest what capacity/type of winch are you thinking of fitting? I'm looking at putting one on the front of my Brumby, but I intend to weld a mounting plate to the inside of the bottom cross member which has already been strengthened and sitting the winch where the radiator used to mount (radiator is moving to on top of th enegine to get it out of harms way).

Good god. Your front suspension will hate you if your using anything sizeable. I'd also reccomend ditching the wire rope and getting some dynamica or alike. Makes alot of difference and in my opinion is a much wiser investment over the wire. Returned my toyota to the land of decent handling when I made the switch.
