HD Clutch Vs Normal Clutch
your thoughts?
mine is slipping...to the point where im reppin' some unintentional wheel spin taking off quickly from hilly intersections...:P or towing the boat....the clutch is getting ridden a fair bit
Any ideas on how much a heavy duty clutch is, as opposed to an ordinary one?...worth it? is there much more life outta one? people have said to suss them out as an option...but if they are heaps over rated i'll bail on the idea....
?/????? hit me up! cos im booked in for next monday for one! :P would appreciate anyones opinion
Jase
P.s. Im not sure where he's getting the clutch from...but is there a recommended brand of clutch or a place you get it from , for a really reliable one?...or is it all just not a big deal??/????

If you're towing all the time or have high access of hilly areas then heavy duty will do.
If you're doing standard everyday driving then normal clutch will do.
I personally think HD is not worth having unless you're towing all the time.

Oh i just meant the clutch is slippin so much so im reving its guts out and riding the clutch ..by the time i get going the wheels have spun....its only happend a couple of times....and only if i got a trailer or a boat....and when im taking off on a hill...but it is getting worse
I dont HAVE to tow often....but i plan on hitting up the beach driving a fair bit...dunno if it is of any benefit...

I don't understand how revving the engine and riding the clutch can help in this situation. That is basically the opposite of how you should drive if your clutch is on the way out.
I don't think the HD clutch kits cost alot more than standard ones, best bet is to price them both up with some of your local suppliers and go from there. If you have a need for the HD one like if you tow often or have a high powered engine then go for that one.

Yeah i reckon I must not know how a clutch truly slips, cos if the wheels can spin still...yeah its not THAT bad ey....excuse my lack of knowledge of the ins and outs of a car :P......Ive just been informed by my mechanic the clutch doesnt seem to have much more life....and as im no good with DIY...id rather him replace it now, rather then wait til its stuffed completely...From when i bought it til now the clutch just seems to be really poor..and 'engages' heaps differently now....I trust my mechanic to make a good call...:P
dont think i'll hit up the HD one/...i figure, as a 4X4, they should have an alright standard clutch for it.....dunno...

haha....a Subaru isn't really a 4x4....its just a normal car that also drives the other 2 wheels. Spring a few extra dollars for the HD clutch, if you do drive in the sand it should be worth it.
