ea 81 stroker
is it possible to use ej20 rods with ea71 pistons to make a ea81 stroker
You can get 1mm / 40 thou oversized pistons or are you after more compression?

I would be looking at a 32/36 Weber first up, and then trying to find ome "Dual Port" Heads, and the cam to match. And finally play with the pistons.

Id imagine that turbo EA81 picture that i posted would be gutless till about 4000rpm, going by the size of the turbo and the restrictive heads of the EA81.
If i remember correctly, i got it from an aviation website, meaning it was for an aeroplane and spends 99% of its running time at full throttle and probably about 4000-5000rpm
Would still be lots of fun though

Nope, from the research I've done the EA81T factory heads are basically EA81 heads but they have an injector boss cast in them.spike wrote:might be duel port heads?
RSR has a set at his joint somewhere. There are plenty of pics of EA81T heads on the internet to look at if you're keen.
On the EJ pistons - forget the stroker bit, you can run EJ20 pistons on an EA81 rod with the gudgeon pin bush removed to fit the EJ20 gudgeon pin. From what the USMB boys have reported back on this is that there's no long term issues without that bush/spacer in the rod.
Cheers
